Empire Supporters Club takes Spanish Pavillion Cup
Local Events

The Empire Supporters Club defeated the Viking Army SC, 3-0, to become the first-ever South Ward Football Challenge Champions.

The charitable event, organized by New York Red Bulls supporters, took place at "The Courts" in Harrison, NJ, Sunday morning and was sponsored by Soccer Stop and the Spanish Pavillion.

Former New York Red Bulls defender Mike Petke and current Assistant Coach Richie Williams were part of the Red Bulls Front Office team that defeated the Garden State Supporters and walked away with the third place.

Harrison Mayor, Raymond J. McDonought and Councilmember Anselmo Millan were present at the end of the event to hand over the Spanish Pavillion Cup to the new champions.

There is no official word from the organizers yet, but the event is poised to become an annual one to be held in town.

I know I'm picky.. but the final was 3-0 (as the score board shows). Not 2-0 ;)

It would be unfortunate if the store was really called "Stop Soccer"....luckily it's actually "Soccer Stop"

The irony of the Mayor presenting the trophy to Red Bull Supporters, but has an ordinance on the books that won't let them park and spend money at businesses in town during games.
"Welcome to Harrison, spend your money at Red Bull Arena, now get out of town!"
